Advertising SALES ASSISTANT

Part-time
Starting Schedule: 60 hours per month/ 2 days per week with the opportunity to grow.

Pay £13.50 per hour + commission 

Work Location: In person with the Advertising Sales Director in the Ramsgate office.

Brightside Publishing produces hyperlocal print magazines across the East Kent coast, launched in Margate in 2016. With now nine titles in the portfolio, published seasonally, we work with talented editors, designers and distributors to regularly bring a premium print magazine to our readers.

Brightside Publishing is now ready to expand our Advertising Sales team to help grow our current titles and launch new ones. We are looking for a driven and motivated Advertising Sales Person to join the team from July 2026.

If you are looking to get back into Advertising Sales on a part-time basis, or feel you have transferable skills, then this might be the perfect opportunity to grow and develop within a small independent business. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate, manage and grow a clientbase of advertisers across all titles. 
  • Communicate with advertisers via all relevant platforms and methods to ensure the appropriate media information is delivered to interested businesses. 
  • Be part of the full sales cycle, from prospecting new clients through to conversion.
  • Generate and be responsible for a range of customers, ensuring revenue streams are nurtured and maintained through a friendly and consultative approach
  • Ability to work across print and digital offerings as they develop and recognise opportunities for client growth. 

The Ideal Candidate 

  • Excellent communication skills (essential)
  • Previous experience in advertising sales (preferred)
  • Assured and engaging, with strong rapport building skills
  • Comfortable dealing with a range of business owners 
  • A logical thinker who can find and win new clients
  • Driven with a positive attitude and committed approach towards sales
  • Able to deliver exceptional customer service
  • Knowledge and experience of using a CRM system
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise and manage their time effectively and work autonomously
  • Able to work across spreadsheets with ease
